The Cambridgeshire Carpet Bowls Association was formed in 1985.
There are three areas - North, South and East. The north is
based mainly around Peterborough with teams from as far flung
as Langtoft and North Luffenham in Rutland. The east area follows
roughly the East Cambs District electoral boundaries while the
south consists of teams from Milton in the north to Littlebury
near Saffron Walden, Litlington near Royston and Wrestlingworth,
Beds.
The three areas have their own leagues. County competitions
are also played.

The game is played on mats 30 feet long by 6 feet wide. The
original idea was to allow villages to be able to play in small
village halls.
The South Cambridgeshire Carpet Bowls league (SCICBL) is split
into three divisions.
